TORONTO - The Gas Station Islanders closed out the 2019/2020 UUHA Regular Season with a 2-0 win over the Wheatfield Souldiers this past Saturday night at Upper Canada College, locking up 1st place in the process and laying claim to the President's Cup. The final slate of Regular Season games also saw the Beau's Beer Hack edge the Jokers 3-2, while the Humiliation bettered the Parkdale Hockey Lads to the tune of 7-3. While the win didn't effect the Humiliation's place in the standings, the final buzzer confirmed the squad's claim to the Lady Malaysia trophy, awarded to the UUHA's least penalized team over the Regular Season.
The 2020 UUHA Playoffs will commence this Saturday, Feb. 29 at UCC with the Gas Station Islanders playing host to the Parkdale Hockey Lads at 7:00 pm in Game 1 of a two-game, first-to-three-points series. The 8:00 pm contest will see the Brockton Rockets face off against the Humiliation in what will be Game 1 of their two-game, first-to-three-points series. Both of those series will wrap up the following Saturday, March 7 at UCC. This coming Saturday's 9:00 pm tilt will see the Beau's Beer Hack take on the Wheatfield Souldiers in the first match of a three-game round-robin series between the three teams (also including the Jokers) that finished the Regular Season in 3rd, 4th and 5th place.
