The tournament commences Good Friday (April 2) at Noon with the red-shirted Subtle Tendencies taking on the all-black Big Stars. Named and inspired by recently-deceased rock legend and former Big Star frontman, Alex Chilton, tomorrow's tourney-opening tilt will be the first ever game for the Big Stars.
Next up at 1:00 pm is the Voyageurs and team Big Stick. The V's are the second most storied team in the tournament, having been on the ice since 2003. (Be sure to read about the team's history in the Super Cup program, available for free at McCormick Arena.) Big Stick is sponsored by Big Stick Custom Hockey Jerseys - an independent Toronto-based jersey manufacturer which has outfitted most of the teams playing in the Super Cup, as well as all of the teams in the UUHA.
The other two teams competing inh the Super Cup are the London Fog (hailing from London, Ontario and dressed in grey unis) and the Toros, who spot the familiar red, white, and blue bull motif of the WHA's Toronto Toros.
