Hack, Jokers Draw Even While Porcs, Gassers Post Wins

TORONTO - League scoring leader Dominic Chartier potted four goals as the Gas Station Islanders bettered the Wheatfield Souldiers 5-2 this Past saturday night at Upper Canada College. Cam Collyer had the other GSI goal, while Rodney Merchant and Brad Sveistrup tallied for the losing side. Meanwhile, the 1st-place Jokers skated to a 2-2 draw with reigning UUHA Champions, the Beau's Beer Hack. Aaron Foster and Wade Ivan scored for the Hack, while Ted Bisaillion and Steve Chamberlain lit the lamp for the Jokers. And in the final game of the night, the Parkdale Porcupines defeated the Brockton Rockets by a score of 4-2. Bryan Eelhart potted the lone goal for the Rockets, while Adam Thrasher, Todd Moffatt and a spare player listed only as "Tommy" on the game sheet accounted for the Porcs' goals (Tommy with a pair). Quills goaltender Tony Lanz turned aside 15 of the 16 shots put at him by Rockets' sticks.
UUHA Regular Season action continues this coming Saturday, Feb. 4 with the Humiliation taking on the Screamin' Jays at 7:00 pm, followed by the Souldiers and Dufferin Groove at 8:00 pm. The evening's final card will feature part 2 of the home-and-home series between the Jokers and Hack. All three matches take place on the NHL regulation-size ice pad at UCC.
