TORONTO - The Jokers Hockey Club will take on the Humiliation in this coming Saturday evening's Bronze Medal match, to be played at 8:00 PM at Upper Canada College. The Jokers blanked the Gas Station Islanders 5-0 this past Saturday night to earn a berth in the contest for 3rd-place, while the Humiliation edged the Wheatfield Souldiers 4-3. The two losing teams are now done for the season.
Scoring for the Jokers this past Saturday night were Gary Rideout Jr. (2), Ted Bisaillion, Mike Takacs and Steve Levine. Burke Lawrence registered the shutout (his second of the post-season) while Takacs, Bisaillion, Levine (2), Craig Hughson and Marc Hickox (3) earned assists on the goals, three of which were scored in the middle frame.
Humiliation veteran Paul Morris potted the game-winning tally in his team's Bronze-qualifying match, while Andrew Blakeley, Luke Sheer and Glen Gummerson accounted for the team's three other goals. Blakeley, Sheer and Mike Thompson (2) picked up assists. Eric Toth, Jon Weier and Scott Montgomery tallied for the Souldiers, with Toth, Brad Sveistrup, Steve Harkness, Montgomery, Mike Wilk and Jay Ward earning helpers. Humiliation goaltender Luke Smit registered his third win of the playoffs.
In addition to the Bronze Medal game, Saturday, April 9 will also see the Brockton Rockets and Parkdale Porcupines face each other in the Consolation Final (at 7:00 PM), with the evening's marquee event pitting the Parkdale Hockey Lads against the Beau's Beer Hack in the Championship Final at 9:00 PM.
