TORONTO - The Humiliation will attempts to reclaim the top spot in the overall UUHA standings tonight while the Jokers and Lads endeavour to avoid the basement. Meanwhile, a Wheatfield Souldiers win (over the undefeated Hack) could see last season's Champions occupy first place for the first time this season.
Having already defeated the Lads and Jokers (5-2 and 2-1, respectively), and tied the Gas Station Islanders 2-2, the Hack looks to add the reigning UUHA Champions to their figurative wall of stuffed and mounted helmets of their prey. Should the exhibition squad fail to do so, they'll contribute to a Souldiers points streak that currently stands at five games and extends back to October 20.
If the Jokers are to vacate the last spot in the standings tonight they'll have to do better than they did back on September 15, which was the last time they took on the Humiliation. That game ended 4-2 in the Orange Tide's favour and saw sniper Mike Thompson collect his second and third goals of the young season. The Humiliation is coming off just their second loss of the season having dropped their previous contest 5-1 to the Dufferin Groove.
Meanwhile, the Parkdale Hockey Lads are looking to string a pair of point-getting games together tonight, having picked up a single in their 3-3 draw with the Islanders last Saturday night. The Rockets would prefer to see themselves back in the win column, and in the goal-scoring column of the game sheet, for that matter. The team has been outscored 6-2 in its previous two games, both of them 3-1 losses (to the Humiliation and Souldiers). Goaltending could play a significant role in this match as the Brockton side has apparently secured the services of veteran Souldiers keeper John Sutton for the evening. As of press time, it was unknown who would be strapping on the pads for the Lads.
