TORONTO - The UUHA has signed Mike Ivall to an exclusive Timekeeping deal. Although specific terms were not revealed by the UUHA Board of Governors, the deal is rumoured to cover the duration of the 2012/13 Regular Season and Playoffs, with an extension option for future UUHA seasons. Ivall, who reportedly lobbied hard for the title "Timemaster" rather than the traditional (and admittedly more pedestrian) "Timekeeper" tag, will also be responsible for all UUHA in-game announcements and DJ'ing duties.
Although short on previous timekeeping experience, Ivall's connections to the hockey world are considerable. He is the go-to freelance photographer for both the AHL's Toronto Marlies and the St. Mike's Buzzers of the OJHL, and has several year's experience shooting the game. Fortunately for the UUHA, both of those teams seldom play home games on Saturday nights. Ivall is also an accomplished team logo designer, having designed crests and uniform motifs for a handful of amateur and professional teams, including the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack.
Ivall will also be putting his photo skills to work for the UUHA from time to time throughout the season. Recently, he took a handful of shots during the league's inaugural series of games at the newly reopened Maple Leaf Gardens. A number of those photos are posted here
on his Flickr page. We hope to set up a gallery of Ivall's UUHA shots in the photo section of this web site sometime soon.
